Who Needs A Lift?

Lifts are primarily used by caretakers to lift and transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs, and car seats.

Caretakers usually need a lift when:

  • They are not able to safely lift the patient. Usually, due to the patient’s condition.
  • The patient requires frequent lifting. Usually, to transfer from room to room or to reach the bathroom.
  • Patient comfort is a priority. Lift slings distribute pressure more evenly than lift belts.

If you are still unsure, we offer in-store demonstrations and rental services for all of our lifts and slings.

What Patient Lift Is Best for You?

There are several patient lifts to choose from many manufacturers. The two main types are Electric Lifts and Hydraulic Lifts.

  • Electric patient lifts – need to be charged, but have a built-in battery for operation. Emergency stop button and remote for operation. If you need to frequently move the patient or require the convenience of an automated lift. An Electric Lift might be best for you.
  • Manual patient lifts – do not require a charge and are much cheaper. While not as effortless as an electric, manual hydraulic lifts are still easy to use. Since they are fully manual, there is no need to keep the unit charged or worry about the battery failing. If you only need the lift occasionally or want a reliable and affordable option. Then a hydraulic Manual Lift might be best for you.

What Sling Do You Need?

Aside from the sizes medium to X-large, there are a number of sling types. We offer full-body and divided-leg style slings.

  • Full Body Mesh slings are made to be breathable and easy to clean. They come in regular full body and full body with commode cutout for use over the toilet.
  • Full Body Solid slings are made to be durable and comfortable. They are made of a solid fabric rather than a mesh, allowing patients to remain comfortable in the sling for longer.
  • Divided Leg slings are made of soft fabric. While they don’t provide as much support as a full body sling, they are easier to mount and dismount. Providing a quick and easy transfer from wheelchair to bed or other seating areas.
